Our recently new ministry, Trinity Family Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, which started in the fall of 2019, is still moving along in helping many people in our area. We currently have a small group of 8 people who have helped serve 22 families this year (2021) alone. Last year we served half of that amount. The increase is partly to do with CoVid, but mostly due to oppression of some sort. We walk with each person who invites us into their home to share their lives with us, as we help them in return. Friendships have been built and great success stories have been made. We also have filled a great need by starting a “special works” in our conference by starting Tigerton Food Pantry. This pantry operates under our Trinity Family Conference of St. Vincent de Paul and is currently serving 25 families every month. Families are very grateful to have this pantry on a regular basis. Beforehand there was only help on an as need basis and families needed more. We have also been graced with the funds to purchase land behind the bowling alley in town on which we will be starting fund raising to put up a building to house the food pantry, provide storage for donated items, and hoping that one day we can also open a resale shop to help with the day to day needs. Currently we are taking up space in the St. Anthony Church back hall and rectory garage until we can move to the new facility. With all this said, we are always in need of more hands to help facilitate and discern the needs and how to fulfill them. More people are needed to help with this ministry, and all are invited to join us.
